Chicago's Murder rate Drops

To some extent it is just our minds playing tricks on us but lately, It seems at times that each night we turn on the news that is just one bad statistic after another. From the price of a barrel of oil, to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Talk of the meltdown in home values caused in part by the sub-prime credit crunch, and the outrageous balance of trade deficit: so I was happy to read that the Chicago murder rate dropped.

As you can see, Chicago still has a way to go, and clearly the crime rates are far from evenly distriputed

Unfortunatly, Chicago is on pace to have more murders that New York City, eventhough our population is much smaller.
